(Potosi) The Potosi Trojans boys basketball team defeated Jefferson 56-41. The first quarter was full of physical play, with both teams racking up a lot of fouls. In a defensive game like this one, points are at a premium, but the Trojans forced the issue on offense early.
Carter Whitley’s dunk was one of the flashier plays of the evening, but he was even better from downtown.
Whitley led all scorers with 28 points. Jefferson’s leading scorer was Nate Breeze. He fouled out early in the fourth quarter with 20 points.
Although the Trojans won, Potosi head coach Jackson Conoway says his team needs to work on a few things.
Potosi improves to 3-1 on the season, as Jefferson takes their first non-tournament loss of the season.
