Potosi Correctional Center Inmate Dies

(Potosi) An inmate serving multiple sentences at the Potosi Correctional Center has died.

Officials say 72 year old David Young was serving time for Financial Exploitation of the Elderly, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Passing a Bad Check, Murder in the 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Actions, Robbery in the 1st Degree, Assault in the 1st Degree or the Attempt of Serious Physical Injury involving a special victim.

He had been in the prison system since November of 2018.

He was pronounced dead on Wednesday at Washington County Memorial Hospital in Potosi. An autopsy will be performed.
