Potosi Couple Wins Major Award from Meramec Regional Planning Commission

(Linn) Congratulations to Kris and Carrie Richards of Potosi who were honored as the 2020 outstanding volunteers during the Meramec Regional Planning Commission’s annual dinner held October 21st at State Technical College in Linn.
Each year, the MRPC honors residents, local agency representatives and organizations in the Meramec Region who contribute to their communities by volunteering their time, talents and support.
With the cancellation of the 2020 dinner due to COVID-19, award recipients from 2020 were honored at this year’s event.
The M.R.P.C. says the Richards are the epitome of the unsung hero couple, the community service couple, the “it’s not work, it’s life” couple.
The two are always smiling, always serving, always ahead of the needs of Washington County.
Whether it’s one of the schools, festivals, food drives or fairs, among many other things, they are ready to assist with not only the planning and promoting but the details.
And, when the day comes, they are there working.
Their hearts are with Washington County, its history, the present and the future.
Some 15 other awards were handed out with another from the area winning for his outstanding contributions.
That’s Joe Brand of Salem.
