Potosi Edges Desoto 20-14 In Regular Season Finale Friday On J-98

(POTOSI, Mo.) – The Potosi Trojans finished out the regular season with a home victory Friday, winning a close one 20-14 over the Desoto Dragons on J-98.
Both teams were held scoreless in the opening quarter, but on the first play of the second, Potosi punched it into the end zone with Wade Mercille.
However, with a few minutes left in the second, Potosi turned it over on downs and gave Desoto a short field.
With just over a minute to go in the half, DeSoto tied the game as Briar Fischer connected with John Whited for a score.
A controversial set of plays would culminate in Potosi having to punt with mere minutes remaining in the game, giving Desoto a final shot.
But Potosi would secure the win on a game ending interception.
Trojans head coach Ed Haar reacts to the exciting finish.
