(POTOSI, Mo.) – The Potosi Trojans and the St. Pius Lancers both begin their baseball seasons Saturday in the form of a doubleheader on AM 800 KREI.

The Trojans went 18-11 in 2018 and are hoping to become back-to-back district champions this year, but will attempt to do so with much more youth than they had a year ago according to head coach Steve McCoy.

On the side of the Lancers, a 16 game winning streak highlighted a 19-3 campaign in 2018.

Since they only graduated one senior starter off of that team, head coach Jerry Woods is pumped up for the season to start.

Before the doubleheader gets going, Potosi will dedicate their field to former head coach Dennis Lawson, who won two state titles with the Trojans. It will be named “Coach Dennis Lawson Memorial Field” in tribute to the former head man who passed away in 2017.
Pregame of the St. Pius and Potosi doubleheader will start at 10:45 Saturday morning on AM 800 KREI with first pitch scheduled for 11. The second game is scheduled to start at 1.
