Potosi Man Killed in Auto Accident in Franklin County

(St. Clair, Mo.) A man from Potosi was killed in an auto accident with a dump truck Wednesday afternoon in Franklin County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident took place westbound on South Outer Road when a Honda Accord driven by 35-year-old Timothy Buerk Jr. of Potosi was traveling in the opposite lane of the South Outer Road.
Then a Mack dump truck driven by 21-year-old Robert Strode of St. Clair swerved to avoid the Accord, while at the same time the Accord swerved to avoid the dump truck.
The result was the front of the dump truck striking the left front of the Accord.
Buerk was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. Strode did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
