Potosi Softball Drops State Semifinal to Lincoln in Extra Innings

(Springfield) The Potosi Trojans softball team took to the field against the Lincoln Cardinals in a State Semifinal matchup tonight in Springfield that was heard right here on J98. It was a battle down to the very end, but ultimately Lincoln was able to pull out a 2-1 victory in extra innings. With Lincoln leading 1-0 almost the entire game, Potosi’s Sami Huck came to the plate in the bottom of the seventh with two outs and two runners on, and kept the game alive…

But Lincoln wasted no time in taking the lead right back in the top of the 8th…

The Trojans tried to rally in the bottom half but came up just short…

Potosi falls to 20-2 on the season but will have a chance to finish the year on a high note as they will take on Mount Vernon at 11 o’clock tomorrow morning in the 3rd Place game. We will have coverage of the game beginning with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show at 10:45 on KREI.
