The Potosi Trojans stand on the threshold of glory as they have made it to the 2019 MSHSAA spring softball state championships in Springfield, but if they want to cross through the door and win a title they have to get past the Lincoln Cardinals in Friday evening’s semifinals. The Cardinals are 24-3 and ranked ninth in the state according to the coaches. Trojans head man Tyler Beers says he’s reached out to a few coaches familiar with Lincoln for scouting info.

But the Trojans didn’t earn the number-one ranking in the state and a 20-1 record without being great in their own right, and Beers says that has been the focus in their week of preparation.

The winner moves on to Saturday’s state championship game, while the loser plays for third place Saturday morning. You can hear the Potosi Trojans take on the Lincoln Cardinals in the softball state final four Friday night with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame starting our coverage at 6:45 on J98.
