The Potosi Trojans are in the thick of the best softball season in school history, and they’re now on the doorstep of reaching the state’s greatest stage if they can win in the MSHSAA quarterfinals Thursday night at Pleasant Hope. The Trojans have won 5 straight, including an 11-1 victory over Winona in the sectionals back on Monday night to improve to 19-1. Trojans head coach Tyler Beers says he hopes his team carries that momentum into the state quarters.

The Pirates of Pleasant Hope have won a whopping 23 games in a row and are 27-3 this season. Head coach Kevin McVey gives a lot of the credit to the battery of junior hurler Jaydin Lee and junior backstop Lindsey Gettle.

The winner moves on to the state semifinals next Friday in Springfield. You can hear the top-ranked Potosi Trojans take on sixth-ranked Pleasant Hope with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show starting our coverage at 3:45 Thursday afternoon on J98.
