Potosi Softball Will Play For A State Championship

(Springfield) The Potosi softball team is going to play for a State Championship. The Trojans (26-3) defeated the Diamond Wildcats (20-3) by a final score of 3-0 this afternoon, on J98, after the game was postponed on Friday due to inclement weather. The win, and right to play for their first state title, wasn’t the only highlight though, as junior pitcher Sami Huck threw a no-hitter in dominant fashion…

Huck, the Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game, had 14 strikeouts and only allowed three runners to reach base all game. Head coach Tyler Beers and his team finished in third place two years ago, so he’s just glad to have a chance at the title this time around…

Freshman Gracie Lawson went 0-3 at the plate but brought in the first run of the game in the fourth inning which proved to be the game-winner. Potosi will take the field tomorrow at 4:00 and take on the winner of Kennet-Skyline in the Class 2 State Championship game. The Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show will kick off at 3:45 on J98.
