(Potosi) It was a rough week for students, faculty and administrators at the Potosi School District after learning the death of an elementary school teacher last Thursday.

Superintendent Alex McCaul says times like this is when the true character of the Potosi School District, and our region as a whole, tends to show itself.

After learning the news on the passing of 3rd grade teacher Luci Martin, a Potosi graduate, classes were cancelled district-wide last Friday.

Superintendent McCaul, through a letter he sent to the community, he said Martin was a wonderful teacher who was loved by her students and fellow staff members.

She had a great passion for teaching and seeing her students succeed on a daily basis.

The letter went on to say that Martin’s commitment to her students, and a love for learning, has touched a countless number of students from Martin’s teaching at Potosi Elementary School.
