Potosi Takes Down Fredericktown On J-98 The Boot

(Fredericktown) The Potosi Trojans took down the Fredericktown Blackcats 61-20 Friday night on J-98, but the game was much more exciting than the score indicates. Fredericktown took the opening kickoff into Potosi territory, but the Trojans weren’t fazed.

Potosi kept that same energy on offense.

Junior Gavin Portell put up three catches for 176 yards and three touchdowns in just the first quarter. But Fredericktown didn’t simply accept defeat.

The Blackcats made it an interesting game going into halftime. Gavin Portell had something to say about that.

Portell finished the game with four catches for four touchdowns. Trojans quarterback Blake Coleman had five passing touchdowns and added another on the ground. Coleman and Portell were named our Applebee’s of Farmington Players of the Game. Potosi moves to 1-2 on the season while Fredericktown drops to 0-3.
