Potosi Teacher Wins State Award

Potosi High School history teacher Greg Kester has been named the Missouri High School Teacher of the Year by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The award is for Missouri teachers who instill patriotism in their students and includes one nominee from each district in the state. Kester said he was incredibly honored to receive the award.

Kester relies on a teaching philosophy that emphasizes a personal connection between instructor and student.

As he approaches the end of his 28th year of teaching, it’s clear that Kester is still as passionate as ever about teaching his students about the greatness he sees in America and American history.

Kester advanced to statewide consideration after winning a similar award for District 8.
