Potosi’s Kalie Thompson Is Heading To Maryville For Track & Field

(Potosi) Senior Kalie Thompson from Potosi High School has signed her National Letter of Intent to Division Two Maryville University for indoor and outdoor track & field.

Thompson is a two-time Class Three state qualifier in discus. Last year, she won the MAAA Conference, District and Sectional meets and came in 4th place at the state meet, all with a complete tear in her shoulder….

 

Thompson tells us what the moment was like when she signed her letter last week…

 

Thompson had been eyeing Maryville for a long time for a few different reasons…

 

As Thompson said, she will be studying physical therapy, and she’s very excited about it…

 

Thompson says her older brother played a role in her picking up a discus for the first time…

 

Thompson had surgery on her shoulder and was able to play in her first basketball game of the season last week. Her eyes are set on the track and field season and she’s keeping the expectations high…
