Preliminary work on replacing Herculaneum 61/67 bridge

(Herculaneum) Some of the pre-work on replacing the Highway 61-67 bridge in Herculaneum is underway. The work calls for not only replacing the bridge but changing the roadway and moving it further west from where it currently sits. Herculaneum City Administrator Jim Kasten says they started replacing water lines.

Kasten says replacing the bridge, which is prone to flooding, will be perfect timing along with the upcoming project along I-55. He says the new road will hopefully happen next year.

Kasten is hoping the bridge replacement will take place sometime in late 2022 or 2023.
