Prepping the roadways for James Hardie arrival

(Crystal City) While the ground will not be broken on the James Hardie manufacturing plant in Crystal City until sometime next year, there is a lot of infrastructure work that needs to be done. Several roadways leading into the site will have to be changed or modified to handle the truck traffic that will be coming in and out of the site once it’s built. Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon says residents may see some surveying work in some of the areas that will be affected.

One of the roadways that will be modified is VFW Drive in Crystal City. Crystal City City Administrator Jason Eisenbeis says the county will handle it on their end.

Jefferson County has already secured over 7 million dollars of funds from the state along with over 7 million dollars in county ARPA funds for the infrastructure work.
