(Farmington) Missouri hospitals are rushing to use a new COVID-19 reporting system or risk losing federal help.

President Trump abruptly instructed the nation’s hospitals to use the new database.

Missouri Hospital Association spokesman Dave Dillon says until they are all online, local leaders cannot get an accurate picture of hospital supplies available to respond to the virus.

Dillon says the change resulted in the state and his office temporarily losing access to information that helps leaders make decisions about responding to the coronavirus.

Dillon says Missouri could very well be at or above peak hospitalizations but until all hospitals can get up and running on this new system, the State is in the dark.
