(Jefferson County) The Missouri Conservation Commission recently approved a proposed hunting framework by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) for a potential future black bear hunting season in the state.

John Winkelman is the host of the Scenic View on KJFF. He says the Commission approved the framework at its September 4th open meeting in Jefferson City.

We asked Winkelman what the commission’s next steps would be after receiving public input.

The Missouri Conservation Commission is seeking public comments about a possible bear hunting season in the state October 16th through November 14th.
