(AUSTIN, TX) Hillsboro High School graduate and current Purdue freshman Isaiah Martin just participated in a decathlon at the NCAA Division 1 National Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Austin, Texas, finishing 10th out of 24 competitors.

Isaiah scored 7,398 points while setting a lifetime best record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.12 seconds. He also set college personal bests in the 15-hundred meter run, long jump and high jump, and all while on a national stage.

 
The Top 5 finishers in the decathlon hail from Georgia, Stanford, Arkansas, Michigan and Oregon universities. Going up against this level of competition gave Isaiah Martin great appreciation for what he accomplished at nationals.

 
Now with the college track and field season over with, Isaiah has the potential of competing internationally this summer.

 
Isaiah Martin’s performance at the NCAA Division 1 National Outdoor Track and Field Championships earned him 2nd-team All-American honors as well, marking just the 2nd time a Purdue Boilermaker has earned such an honor since 1998, the year before Isaiah was born.
