Red Bluff Campground Closed for Year to get Major Renovations

(Pucky Huddle) Most campgrounds in the Mark Twain National Forest, that are managed by officials with the National Forest Service, are open for the season but one picturesque site will be closed for the entire year.

Forest Ranger Becky Ewing says this campground, located in Crawford County, is getting a major overhaul this year.

We asked Ewing if they finally received full funding for this project.

But moving the campgrounds isn’t the only work happening at Red Bluff thanks to the federal government.

Mark Twain National Forest officials expect Red Bluff Recreation Area to reopen in the spring of 2023.

The final two Mark Twain National Forest campgrounds will open for the season next Saturday, April 9th.

Ewing says those who usually camp at Red Bluff should try these two campgrounds in place of Red Bluff.

Council Bluff Lake Recreation Area, between Belgrade and Bixby in northern Iron County and Marble Creek Recreation Area, along the Iron and Madison County border, a few miles south of Arcadia, will both open next Saturday.
