(Farmington) Regional Radio in Farmington is winners of three Missouri Broadcaster Association awards this year. Winners were unveiled Tuesday afternoon and the category of Feature News Reporting was a clean sweep for our news director as Luke Turnbough took both first and second place. Luke won first for his story on the Belgrade girl’s hen winning Miss Flocktober.

Luke also took second place in Feature Reporting on his 50th Anniversary of the first moon landing where he spoke with the curator of the Bonne Terre Space Museum.

The Regional Radio Sports Team was also winners. Nathan Gerdts took first place in the All-Around Sports category for his training camp report with Valle Catholic.

The Missouri Broadcasters Association says there were a record number of entries this year with 933. In all, 113 first place awards were handed out along with 115 second place awards. Due to the coronavirus, the annual M.B.A. Awards Banquet, which was scheduled for June, was cancelled for safety purposes.
