Regional Weekend Accidents

(Jefferson County) An Arizona women and Hillsboro man were both injured in a single ATV accident Sunday afternoon in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2016 Polaris Ranger 570 being operated by 27-year-old Malay Patel of Stongsville, Ohio was driving south on Route Z at Victory Drive when he travelled around a right curve in the road and started to lose control.

The operator over-corrected and the ATV started to skid before travelling off the left side of the road and overturned.

While the driver was not injured, passengers, 64-year-old Lilaben Patel of Phoenix, Arizona received moderate injuries while 70-year-old Baldevbhai Patel of Hillsobro suffered serious injuries.

Both were taken by ambulance to St. Louis University Hospital. The accident happened around 3:19 Sunday afternoon.

A Festus man was seriously injured Sunday in a traffic accident on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County.

The highway patrol says 65 year old Mark Davis was overtaking another vehicle when he lost control of his Ford Mustang. He then ran off the road and hit a rock bluff.

Davis was taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital for treatment.

A woman from De Soto and a man from Imperial were both injured in a one vehicle accident in Franklin County early Sunday morning.

A 2002 Ford Ranger being driven by 47-year-old Chantel Overturf was driving on Highway 185 when she travelled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Overturf and her passenger 49-year-old Daniel Lange received moderate injuries and were both transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington.

Overturf was later arrested for felony possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While Intoxicated.

One person was injured in a one vehicle accident in Jefferson County Saturday afternoon.

A 2021 Ford Bronco Sport being driven by 51-year-old Albert Planells of Arnold was driving on Romaine Creek Road at Moncrief Drive when he failed to negotiate a right curve, over-corrected, and travelled off the right side of the road and struck a cable box and concrete culvert before overturning.

Planells received serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South.

Planells was later arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. The accident happened around 3:45 Saturday afternoon.

A Hillsboro woman was injured in a single vehicle crash Saturday morning in Jefferson County.

A 2005 Honda CRV being driven by 34-year-old Emily Bregenzer was driving on Route W at Boemler Road when she failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the road, struck a culvert before going airborne and striking a tree.

Bregenzer sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy South.
