Report Says Shannon County is Poorest County in State & One of the Poorest in the Country

(Shannon County) The U.S. Census Bureau says Shannon County is the poorest county in Missouri and one of the poorest in the country.
The median household income throughout the county is about 32-thousand dollars, that’s 20-thousand lower than the state average.
The poverty rate is 28.5 percent, about double the state average.
Shannon County has around 8-thousand residents.
