Representative Dinkins’ Bill to Ban Cell Phones from Prison Inmates Close to Passing through House

(Jefferson City) A bill introduced this session by State Representative Chris Dinkins of Annapolis is already close to passing out of the Missouri House.

The bill would ban cell phones from inmates in any state prison facility.

Dinkins says her old boss, former State Representative Paul Fitzwater attempted to get a similar bill passed back when he held the office.

Dinkins believes inmates with cell phones could pose problems.

This bill needs one more vote to get out the House.

The Missouri Senate will then need to approve the bill and then Governor Parson will have to sign it to make it official.
