Representative McGirl’s Random Acts of Kindness Bill Closer to Passage

(Jefferson City) This is the third year State Representative Mike McGirl has attempted to pass his Random Acts of Kindness bill which would put a bigger spotlight on suicide.

The lawmaker from Potosi says the bill moved forward last week and the bill is further along than it has been the previous two years.

The bill has already passed out of the Missouri House.

If it passes the Senate and the governor signs the bill, it would designate every August 31st as Random Acts of Kindness Day throughout the state.

That date was chosen as a lead-in to Suicide Awareness Month which is the entire month of September.
