(Jefferson County) 113th District State Representative Dan Shaul of Imperial announced his intention for running for the 22nd District state Senate seat in the 2022 election.
Shaul, who is a Republican, is on his last term in the House of Representatives.
He says carrying over his experience and desire to work for the people is driving his decision to make a run for the Senate.
We asked Shaul about his upcoming campaign.
Shaul isn’t the only one with his eye on a Senate seat. 97th District State Representative Mary-Elizabeth Coleman of Arnold announced her plan to run but did not commit to a specific senate seat.
The 22nd District state Senate seat is currently held by Paul Wieland, who will be term-limited out in 2022.
