Rescue Workers Looking for Missing Man Last Seen Swimming in the Big River

(Cedar Hill) Emergency crews are currently searching for the body of a 33-year-old man who was last seen swimming with friends in the Big River near the Cedar Hill River access on Sunday afternoon.

Cedar Hill Fire Protection District Chief Mick Fischer says they received the call around 1:30pm when the reporting party said they got caught up in a current and that’s when they lost visual of the missing man.

High Ridge Fire Protection District has been assisting with additional boats using sonar.

The Big River Ambulance District was called in to provide medical assistance if needed and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was initially on scene to help out with crowd control.
