Reynolds County Conservation Agent Talks Youth Turkey Hunt

(Centerville) Young turkey hunters in Missouri harvested 2,712 birds over the weekend.

Reynolds County Conservation Agent Kaleb Neece says his county had low numbers during the two-day youth hunt.

And Neece says even though, we are battling the Covid-19 pandemic, all hunting and fishing seasons are still a go in Missouri.

Top harvest counties in the state for the youth turkey hunt were Miller with 74 birds checked, Franklin with 62 and Ste. Genevieve and Callaway with 60 birds each.

Young hunters checked 166 more turkeys than they did during last year’s spring youth weekend.

The regular spring turkey hunt runs April 20th through May 10th.
