Robert H. “Poogie” Skaggs of Festus passed away on Friday at the age of 83. He was the retired owner/operator of Poogie’s Antonia Market in Antonia and had also worked in the Missouri State Highway Department. He was a member of Our Lady Church in Festus, and very active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a 4tf degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #14420, had coached basketball and volleyball for eleven years at Our Lady’s School, coached baseball for 21 years with the Twin City Little League and has served as the councilman for Crystal City.

He is survived by his wife Mary, daughters’ Stephanie Brueggeman of Illinois, Susie Skaggs of Festus, two brothers; Frederick Skaggs of Festus, and Monte Skaggs of Eureka, along with three grandchildren.

The funeral mass for Robert “Poogie” Skaggs will be Wednesday morning at 10 at Our Lady Church in Festus.

Visitation will be tomorrow (Tuesday) evening from 4 until 8 at the Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
