Rock Memorial starts 2020 with fresh faces

Summer baseball is back in Jefferson County.

Rock Memorial has begun its 2020 season, this time without sponsorship from American Legion Post 283 or any postseason play.

Rock will thus play as many games as possible in a barnstorming schedule over the next 2 months.

Dan Sigman is in his second season as head coach of Rock Memorial. He says the strength of this team will be the depth of the pitching staff.

Rock Memorial will have just 2 returning starters, Jefferson graduate Shannon Dowd and recently-graduated Cooper Thomas of Windsor.

Sigman says, while the younger players start to settle in, the lineup will lean on their veteran duo.

Rock Memorial are on the home diamond to take on the Central Missouri Phenom next up on Tuesday.
