Rock Memorial wins Elsberry Tournament

(Elsberry) Rock Memorial Post 283 started the American Legion baseball season slow, struggled to get wins, and their team was not on the same page. Now they are starting to find their stride. Rock went undefeated this weekend to win the Elsberry AAA 4th of July Wood bat Tournament. Coach Danny Sigman says that on Friday his team was unstoppable at the plate.

The bats cooled off for Post 283 throughout the rest of the Holiday weekend. Sigman gave us a rundown on what happened for the rest of the tournament games.

Rock would see the Mid-West Rage in the Championship game and won 8-1. Sigman says that this week of district games is huge for seeding for the district tournament next weekend. #283 now sits at 14-9 on the season, currently is a 2 seed in the district, and will play Festus Wednesday at 5:30 from Jefferson College.
