Route E Road Project In Iron County

(Iron County) The Missouri Department of Transportation has just wrapped up a 14 day public comment period for a road project planned for Route E in Iron County. Chris Crocker is an engineer with MODOT. He says the work involves adding rumble stripes from Route E to the junction of Highways 49 and 21 in Iron County. It also involves improving a number of curves on the road.

Crocker says most of the public comments on the work involved why is it necessary and why will the closing will take so long.

A contract for the project was supposed to have been let in May, but Crocker says that’ll now happen in August. He says whoever does the work is hoping to get some done this year, but the majority of it will probably happen in 2024.
