(Antonia) In recent years deep frying your gobblers for Thanksgiving festivities has become increasingly popular; however, the cooking method involves placing the turkey in multiple gallons of oil that is heated by propane which can be dangerous if not handled correctly.

Mike Arnhart is the Fire Chief for the Antonia Fire Protection District. He says in the past they use to respond to numerous deep fried turkey related fires.

Arnhart adds to make sure the turkey is dry when it is placed in the deep fryer.
