Sammons named Rotary District Governor
(Arnold, Fenton) A member of the Arnold Rotary Club will serve as the District 6060 Governor for the next year. Margie Sammons of Fenton has been preparing for this distinction for the past few years. She says she will be meeting with the Rotary clubs within the district to see how they are getting their clubs back on track after the Covid-19 pandemic handcuffed their efforts some.
Sammons retired as the Administrator of the Rock Township Ambulance District a few years ago. She says this year’s Rotary theme, it’s a perfect fit considering her background.
The last Jefferson County Rotary member to serve as a District Governor was Scott Harness of the Festus-Crystal City Rotary club in 2007. Longtime Rotarian Elmo Blum also from the Festus-Crystal City club served as the District Governor back in 1975.
