Saturday traffic accident injures four

(Imperial) Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on the West Outer Road north of Imperial Main Street on Saturday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2015 Chevy Cruze driven by 61-year old Rebecca Reis of St. Louis was traveling north….in the southbound lanes on the Outer Road, while a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix is driven by 20-year old Chrislyn Stout of Imperial was traveling south. Stout swerved to the left to avoid striking Reis’ vehicle, but the vehicles struck one another nearly head-on. Reis was not injured, but a passenger in her vehicle, 79-year old Donna Furke suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South. Stout was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South with moderate injuries, while passengers 20-year old Natalie Mathews of Wildwood, and 22-year old Haylie Lay of Arnold were both taken by ambulance to Mercy South with minor injuries. The accident took place just before 9 o’clock Saturday night.

Reis was later charged with four counts of Felony Driving While Intoxicated with Physical Injury.
