(PERRYVILLE, Mo.) – The St. Vincent Indians will have a familiar face roam the sidelines as the new head football coach for the 2018 season. Former assistant coach Tim Schumer was promoted to the head coaching position after serving for four years assisting former head coach Nathan Rowland. Schumer said being with the program for so long helped the transition to his new job.

Not only has Schumer coached the Indians for four years, but he also played quarterback for the team during his high school days. He said his father was a big influence on his desire to get into coaching.

The Indians finished 2-7 in 2017 and have three winning seasons in the last eight years. Schumer said he wants to make an positive impact on the program right away.
