(IMPERIAL) Seckman cross country enjoyed great success from its female runners last weekend at the Class 4 District 1 meet as Stephanie Anthonies, Ashley McMahon, and Danielle Maxwell each qualified for Sectionals.

Anthonies was announced as the Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy Athlete of the Week after finishing as district champion. McMahon came in 11th with a time of 21 minutes and 29 seconds while Maxwell finished 30th with a time of 22 minutes and 25 seconds.

Anthonies has qualified for Sectionals now all four years and is attempting to reach state for the 4th time in her high school career as well. Head Coach Jackie Roach says that she and Anthonies have developed a plan this week to make sure she gets back to state and finishes better than 76th, like last year.

Coach Roach believes that Ashley is a bit of a wildcard mentally, but her times this season have shown she can run faster than most.

As for freshman Danielle Maxwell, Coach Roach has known she was special since junior high.

Stephanie, Ashley, and Danielle will all be competing this Saturday in the Class 4 Sectional 1 meet at Parkway Central High School in Chesterfield.
