(FESTUS) The Seckman Lady Jaguars got the 52-33 road victory Thursday night on KJFF at the home of the Jefferson Lady Blue Jays.

Jefferson actually led 11-10 at the end of the 1st quarter behind 7 points from Laney Smith. Seckman, however, spread the wealth among its four starters in the 2nd quarter, outscoring the Lady Jays 12-5 to take a 22-16 halftime lead.

The Lady Jags broke the game open around the three-minute mark of the 3rd quarter behind a string of back-breaking buckets from Abby Townsend and Emma Harris.

Jefferson held Seckman’s leading scorer Makayla Parton, who came in averaging 20 points a game, to just four in the first half, but Seckman head coach Brian Metteer says she eventually gets her way.

Seckman improves to 5-1 with the victory and will travel to Ste. Genevieve for a game on Monday. The Jefferson Blue Jays are now 4-4 after the loss and will next host Windsor on Monday.
