Seckman volleyball loaded and ready for 2020 title run

(Imperial) The Seckman Jaguars closed the 2019 volleyball season strong, earning upset wins back-to-back playoff matches to reach the Class 4 District 2 championship game.

While they lost the title match to Oakville, the Jaguars only graduated 2 seniors from last year’s 18-win team.

Head coach Paula Baechle says she has high anticipation for the start of 2020.

Chief among those returners are top hitters Taylor Beaven and Tayler Neal, but the Jaguars will need to replace setter Madi Robinson.

Fortunately, junior Erin Treis compiled over 200 assists to go with more than 100 kills last season.

Baechle says that versatility will make Treis a dangerous force as the new setter.

Starting libero Cate Casey and middle blocker Lydia Smith are back as well, meaning all the talent the Jaguars could ask for will be on the floor.

Baechle says the challenge is finding chemistry for her Dream Team.

Seckman opens the 2020 volleyball season Friday, August 28th at home against Fox.
