(BONNE TERRE) The North County Raiders topped the Central Rebels 51-48 in thrilling fashion on Friday night on AM 800 KREI. The game was back and forth through out the entire contest with neither team taking a commanding lead. Late in the fourth quarter, the Raiders held a 6 point advantage over the Rebels, their largest of the night when Central junior Forward Breven McMullen would take over.

Raider sophomore Karter Kekec and McMullen would trade 2 pointers to knot the game up at 48 all with 5 seconds to go. A Raiders senior would win it on the Gilster Mary Lee Play of the Game.

Cody Hubbard ended the game with 5 points, his other two coming on a pair of clutch fourth quarter free throws. After the game we asked Hubbard what was going through his mind on that final play. He says that he actually wasn’t looking to take the final shot.

Head coach of the Raiders Jimmy Palmer had some praise for his senior’s smart play on the final buzzer beater.

With the win the North County Raiders record now sits at 8-6 and will play St. Pius in Festus on Tuesday while the Central Rebels drop to 8-5 and visit Sikeston on Tuesday.
