Shannon Otto resigns from Jefferson County Council

(Hillsboro) Another member of the Jefferson County Council has resigned during a current term. Shannon Otto submitted her resignation in a letter to Jefferson County Council Chair Charles Groeteke earlier this month. Otto had been serving as the District 3 council person since January, after winning her election bid in November of 2022. Groeteke says a specific reason for her resignation was not given.

Groeteke gives a few details of what the qualifications are for someone interested in filling the vacant seat on the council.

Groeteke says interested applicants must submit their information by December 8th.

Over the years, there have been a few council members who have resigned for various reasons according to Groeteke.

The other most recent change to the council was in January when Gene Barbagallo was voted in by the council to replace Renee Reuter in District 2. Reuter resigned due to winning her election bid to become the State Representative in the 112th District in the Missouri House of Representatives.
