Sheriff’s Department will Now Police Terre du Lac

(Terre du Lac) With no police force now in Terre du Lac, the St. Francois County Commission has drafted a Memorandum of Understanding to absorb that former police department.
Sheriff Dan Bullock says it is a win-win for all parties.

The Terre du Lac Police Department was dissolved earlier this month after an insurance carrier dropped their coverage claiming the lake community was not incorporated or a city.
The agreement is a year-to-year contract that is expected to be formalized by the County and the Terre du Lac Association within the next week.
