Sheriff’s office investigates alleged threat made towards a Jefferson County school district

(Jefferson County) The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has stepped up patrols in the Windsor School District after an alleged threat, made by an unknown individual, was directed towards the district.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Grant Bissell says the threat was discovered over the weekend.

Due to the threat extra deputies have been assigned to patrol the vicinity…

Investigators say there is no credible threat to the school district. However, authorities are not taking this lightly and an increase in deputy presence in the area is likely for some time.

Recently, three Windsor High School students were shared in a social media post appearing to reenact the death of George Floyd.

The incident reportedly happened after class.

In a press-release from the Windsor C-1 School District, “This photo is highly insensitive and does not reflect the character that the Windsor C-1 School District promotes and values. We take all incidents of this nature very seriously and are thoroughly investigating the incident and will respond appropriately and swiftly.”

No details have been released regarding the schools investigation on the matter or if disciplinary action was taken against the students involved.
