Six people were injured Saturday afternoon in a two vehicle accident in Jefferson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 63-year old Bobby Knox of Wright City was behind the wheel of a Nissan Titan, traveling southbound on Missouri Route B, south of Forest Drive.

At the same time, 50-year old Margaret Rushing of Waterloo, Illinois, was driving a Ford Fusion, headed north on Route B.

The crash occurred when Rushing lost control of her vehicle and crossed the center line.

The Ford spun counter clockwise and the front left of Knox’s Nissan struck the passenger side of Rushing’s vehicle.

As a result, both drivers were injured along with several passengers.

Bobby Knox sustained moderate injuries and his passenger, 59-year old Annette Knox of Wright City suffered moderate injuries as well.

They were both taken to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.

Meanwhile, Margaret Rushing sustained moderate injuries, as did a 12-year old unnamed female from Waterloo.

They were both taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment.

In addition, a 12-year old unnamed male from Columbia, Illinois suffered minor injuries.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital South.

Finally, another passenger of Rushing’s, an unnamed 15-year old from Waterloo suffered serious injuries in the crash.

He was taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital for medical care.
