Six Seed Farmington Wins 2024 MAAA Baseball Championship, Defeats Four Seed Central 3-0

(BONNE TERRE) The Farmington Knights baseball team carried an early lead to a 3-0 win over the Central Rebels in the MAAA Baseball Tournament Championship Saturday afternoon. Farmington led 3-0 after two innings, ut the Rebels hung around. Central loaded the bases with one out in the 6th inning.

The score would hold into the seventh inning, when Central loaded the bases again following a walk of Rebels pitcher Casen Murphy. Jaxon Jones went to bat next for Central.

As a result of the flyout, Farmington completed the shutout, Kinghts pitcher Aidan Redmond pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings and was named the Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game. He talks about what the tournament win means for his squad.

Farmington manager Logan Winder says the win carries momentum for the rest of the season.

Farmington improves their record to 20-12, and they’ll face Dexter on the road Monday afternoon.  Central’s record drops to 12-9, and they’ll visit a tough Hillsboro squad on Tuesday.
