(Park Hills) Warning sirens in Park Hills had a poor showing last week when our first bout of severe weather hit the area.

However, most of those sirens are working now.

City Administrator Mark McFarland says the siren issues were discussed during Tuesday night’s city council meeting.

Also at the meeting, a Park Hills police officer was recognized for an outstanding act of courage.

In other news from this week’s Park Hills City Council meeting, the council voted to put a tax increase issue on the August 4th election ballot.

It would be a one-fourth of one percent sales tax which would go to the Park Hills Police Department for public safety, including but not limited to equipment and training.
