Small Earthquake Begins the Weekend in Wayne County

(Williamsville) A small earthquake was registered as the weekend began in southern Wayne County.

The U.S. Geological Survey says it was a 2.4 quake and it was centered about eight miles east of Williamsville and a few miles west of Lake Wappapello.

The depth of the rumbler was almost a half mile deep.

It took place at 5:22 Friday evening.

There have been no injury or damage reports and only one person claimed to have felt the small earthquake.

That’s from a person who reported it on the U.S.G.S. website on earthquakes.

That person was 82 miles away in Carbondale, Illinois.
