(STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo.) – The Ste. Genevieve Dragons girls basketball team remained undefeated Thursday evening, taking a home win over the Arcadia Valley Tigers by a final of 60-53.

AV led 15-10 after a quarter, but the Dragons outscored the Tigers 23-8 in the second to take a ten point lead.

Junior point guard Maci Reynolds hit three 3-pointers in the second quarter alone.

AV cut the lead to five by the end of the third quarter, but Reynolds wasn’t done…

Reynolds finished with 23 points and was our Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game.

AV wouldn’t go away late, as Gracee Smith scored her 1000th career point just five games into her junior campaign on this 3-pointer.

Smith led all scorers for the second straight game, this time scoring 27 points while connecting on three 3’s.

It was another perfect night from the free throw line as well, as Smith is now 15 of 15 from the charity stripe in her last 3 games.

The late surge did not prove to be enough though for AV, as Ste. Genevieve pulled away late.

Dragons head coach Jordanna Walk-Robison says they won the game in the 2nd quarter.

Ste. Gen is now 6-0, while Arcadia Valley falls to 2-3.

Both teams are off until the Central Christmas Tournament next Thursday, when the Tigers will draw Steelville in the quarterfinal round while the Dragons get Potosi.
