South Iron Boys Basketball Cruises Past Chadwick For Sectional Win

(Annapolis) The #1 South Iron boys basketball team blew past #5 Chadwick tonight to win their Class 1 Sectional game 74-42 on the MyMoInfo SportStream. The Panthers led 21-9 at the end of the first, but allowed the Cardinals to cut their lead to four. South Iron called a timeout and quickly flipped a switch.

South Iron took a 17 point lead into the break. In the second half, it was all about South Iron senior Brock Wakefield as he would make history.

Wakefield finished the contest with 22 while Drenin Dinkins led the Panthers with 25. Panther head coach Dusty Dinkins says he is nothing but proud of the man and teammate Wakefield has become at South Iron.

#5 Chadwick finishes their season at 24-4. #1 South Iron improves to 22-4 and will play the Delta Bobcats on Friday at Delta in the Class 1 Quarterfinals. You can listen to that game on the MyMoInfo SportStream at 5:45.
