South Iron Boys Basketball Player Jacob Howell Signs with Mineral Area College

(Park Hills, Mo.) One of the unsung heroes of the South Iron Panthers boys basketball team signed the dotted line this week to continue his academic and basketball career at Mineral Area College. Jacob Howell accepted a walk-on invite to the team and will join the Cardinals program this fall. Howell says MAC was the smart choice with everything going on right now.

Howell was one of two seniors on a South Iron squad that went 29-1 this past season. He averaged just under nine points per contest and three assists. He says there are a couple areas in his game he’d like to improve during the season coming up.

That defensive prowess he hopes to improve upon will be one of the strengths he brings to MAC according to his former head coach Dusty Dinkins.

Jacob Howell joins a MAC program that went 30-2 this past season and made it to the Region 16 championship game.
